Aam Aadmi Party captures Delhi Municipal Corporation – BJP’s 15-year reign ends

New Delhi – December 7  Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party has won the post of Mayor of Delhi. Out of total 250 wards of Delhi Municipal Corporation, AAP has crossed the magic figure by winning 126 wards. The BJP, which has been ruling the Delhi Corporation for the last 15 years, has faced a major defeat. The BJP, which won the mayoral seat three times in a row, has now won only in 97 wards.

Currently, AAP is leading in 8 more wards and BJP in 6 wards. And the Congress party has won in only 7 wards and is ahead in three wards. Independent candidates won in three wards. During the election campaign, Kejriwal told the voters that if you want to improve cleanliness in the city of Delhi, make AAP successful.

He explained to the voters of Delhi that despite having his own government in Delhi, he has no chance to clean Delhi because the Delhi Corporation is in the hands of the BJP. He said that whenever one party is on the seat of Delhi, the other party is on the seat of the Mayor of Delhi, due to which there is a lack of coordination.
