Baby boy found abandoned in bushes on Hyderabad outskirts

According to the police, the incident came to light around 10pm, after G.Vinay Goud, an auto-rickshaw driver who parked his vehicle to relieve himself on the roadside, heard cries from the bushes and later found the baby.

Hyderabad: A week-old baby boy was found abandoned in a secluded place on the roadside on RGK Road in Bandlaguda in Keesara here on Thursday late night.

The infant, is suspected to have been abandoned by his parents.

According to the police, the incident came to light around 10pm, after G.Vinay Goud, an auto-rickshaw driver who parked his vehicle to relieve himself on the roadside, heard cries from the bushes and later found the baby.

He immediately alerted the Keesara police, who reached the spot and took custody of the child. After medical examination, he was shifted to the child care centre at Nagaram, police said.

The Keesara police have booked a case and taken up investigation. Officials said footage from surveillance cameras in the surroundings was being examined to identify who left the child there.

Officials are also verifying birth records at hospitals and nursing homes nearby to identify his parents.
