Bharat Bandh successful in many parts of the country.
The agitation of farmers against the new agricultural laws has been completed 4 months, but the demand of the farmers has not been accepted by the government due reason the farmers organizations have called for a Bharat Bandh on Friday.
Rail and road transport was affected in many parts of the country due to the shutdown. According to the United Farmers Front, the Bharat Bandh was started at 6 am on Friday, which continued till 6 pm.
Demonstrations were taken place in many states of the country. Demonstrators have sat on railway tracks in many places. The Indian Railways has said that the protesting farmers were sitting at 31 places in Punjab and Haryana, which affected the rail movements in Delhi, Ambala and Ferozepur divisions. Train services at 32 places were affected and four Shatabdi trains had to be canceled due to the Bharat Bandh.
The Tikri Border, Bahadurgarh City and Brigadier Hoshiar Singh metro stations were also closed for some time due to the Bharat Bandh, but were later opened. On the other hand, many political parties have supported this bandh. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has tweeted about this, in which he has taunted the Modi government and wrote that the history of India is a witness that Satyagraha itself ends atrocities, injustice and arrogance.
