Bihar: Ink thrown at Union Minister Pashupati Paras in his constituency Hajipur

A female supporter of Chirag Paswan threw ink on Union Minister Pashupati Paras as soon as he reached his Lok Sabha constituency Hajipur in Bihar on Monday, sources said.

Union Minister Pashupati Kumar Paras visited his Lok Sabha constituency Hajipur on Monday for the first time after being inducted into Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s cabinet.

But as soon as the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) MP’s convoy reached Hajipur, a female supporter of Chirag Paswan threw ink on the union minister, sources said.

Following this, Pashupati Paras had to change his clothes.

On July 8, Pashupati Kumar Paras, MP from Hajipur, was inducted into PM Nodi-led government as a Cabinet minister and given the charge of the key Ministry of Food Processing Industries. The portfolio was earlier with Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar.

Pashupati Paras, who previously headed LJP’s Bihar unit and is currently the national president of its breakaway faction, began his innings in 1978 as a Janata Party MLA from Alauli in his native Khagaria district, a seat formerly represented by the late Ram Vilas Paswan.

The Pashupati Paras-led faction of the LJP has been at loggerheads with his nephew, Chirag Paswan-led faction, since the demise of the latter’s father Ram Vilas Paswan.
