Breach of privilege notice to TMC MP Mahua Moitra

Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra has been given notice of breach of privilege against the former Chief Justice for commenting in the Parliament. The MP from Krishnanagar in West Bengal had made objectionable comments regarding the former Supreme Court’s CJI during the debate on the motion of thanks in the Lok Sabha on Monday.

Now on this, TMC MP Mahua Moitra has tweeted that she will not remain silent from the threats of action. She wrote that when the entire power of the government tries to divert attention from uncomfortable truths, something is definitely right.

The statement of MP Mahua Moitra has also been removed from the record. The BJP MP gave this information in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday. He said that there can be no discussion in Parliament about the behavior of judges. No charges can be made against current and retired judges inside the House. If a member speaks against the rule, a case of breach of privilege is made.
