In a high level meeting on Friday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has announced an assistance of Rs 1751 crore to Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh. The help has been made in addition to the NDRF Fund.

According to the information given by the Ministry of Home Affairs, these five states suffered due to heavy rains, hailstorms, floods and landslides caused by the south-west monsoon in the year 2020.
Amit Shah has said that this government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi had pledged to help the people from natural disasters in these five states.

The year 2020 had been very bad because of the Corona epidemic and natural disasters also showed their form. Many states were affected by earthquakes, torrential rains and floods. From the Rs 1751 crore assistance the government has released, 437.15 crore to Assam, 75.86 crore to Arunachal Pradesh, 320.94 crore to Odisha, 245.96 crore to Telangana and 386.06 crore to Uttar Pradesh.
