The Chief Minister chaired the day-long conference with District Collectors from Pragathi Bhavan
Hyderabad: Explaining the State government’s priorities and responsibilities, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Saturday set goals for District Collectors for the successful implementation of Palle Pragathi, Pattana Pragathi and Haritha Haram programmes from July 1.
Once Palle Pragathi and Pattana Pragathi programmes conclude, there should not be any pending works, Chandrashekhar Rao, who chaired the day-long District Collectors conference at Pragathi Bhavan here, said. He directed the officials to review as to why works were still pending despite the State government extending necessary assistance to the Panchayat Raj department.
Officials should give at least half a dozen saplings to every house in villages and these saplings should be delivered at the doorstep. He underscored the need to have more rice mills in Telangana since the State has emerged as the rice bowl of the country.
The police and agriculture departments should take stern action against those selling spurious seeds and District Collectors can use their discretionary powers to crack the whip against spurious seed sellers. Food processing units should be established in separate SEZ in a minimum of 250 acre, he said.
