Cock killed its owner in Telangana.
A rooster fitted with a knife for an illegal cockfight in southern India has killed its owner, sparking a manhunt for the organisers of the event, police said on Saturday.
The bird had a knife attached to its leg ready to take on an opponent when it inflicted serious injuries to the man’s groin as it tried to escape. The man was rushed to the hospital, but died due to overflowing of blood.
The police is now searching for 15 people who were involved in the program of this illegal fighting of cocks. The event took place in Lotunur village in Telangana earlier this week.
After the death of the person, the cock was taken into the police station from where it was sent to a farm. Police said that the cock was being prepared for the fight and at the same time it tried to escape where owner tried to catch it. However, in the struggle between the cock and its owner, the owner was hurt by a 7 cm long (3 inch) knife tied in the cock’s claws. According to AFP news agency report, the people involved in this event have been charged with murder, illegal betting and organizing fowl.
