It is worth noting that in the month of May, assembly elections are going to be held in five states of the country and it is believed that after the end of these elections, organizational elections will be held in the Congress.
Along with this, the possibility of conducting internal elections of the party in February was also explored in the meeting of the Congress Working Committee.
In April-May 2021 assembly elections are due in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, West Bengal, Assam and Union Territory of Puducherry.
According to sources, in the meeting of the Congress Working Committee, two members proposed that the party’s internal elections should be held in February, so that there is enough time to prepare a team for the assembly elections.
The Congress is out of power in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, West Bengal and Assam, the Congress is the only government in Puducherry.
During the meeting, party officials said that a long gap between assembly elections and organizational elections is necessary so that there is no loss in the election campaign.
