In the name of evicting “suspected illegal migrants” from Government land, the Assam BJP  Government has unleashed violence against citizens of India, poor peasants who have been tilling the land for decades. The entire programme is communally designed and is targeted entirely against local Muslim minority communities. CPI(M) described it as an outright assault on the constitutional guarantee of equality and security for all citizens of India.

The horrific brutalities on the peasants captured on camera require immediate action against the police personnel involved. The CPI(M) demands a judicial inquiry under a sitting judge of the Guwahati High Court, an end to all evictions, compensation to those killed and injured. It supports the efforts of the secular and democratic forces in Assam to expose and fight back the toxic communal hate politics of the BJP Government in Assam.

Outraged  by watching the gruesome videos of killings and torture of innocent Muslims in Assam, Fraternity Movement, an NGO, gave a call #BlockAssamBhawan on Friday  in Delhi. It said merely keeping the anger in our hearts is not enough and everybody must do join  the protest at Assam Bhawan.

Tahir Ahmed Khilji said  the way police massacred Muslims in Assam is absolitley not torlerated.
