The Special Cell of Delhi Police will investigate ‘conspiracy’ and ‘criminal intentions’ of violence during the tractor parade of farmers on 26 January.
The Delhi Police claimed that there was a ‘pre-planned’ and ‘thought-out’ plan to circumvent the agreement reached with the peasant leaders to embarrass the government internationally on Republic Day.
The Delhi Police has registered about three dozen cases against farmer leaders. In which several strict streams of IPC have also been imposed. Police said criminal cases have been registered and are being investigated under the provisions of the Unlawful Activities (UAPA) Act and the sections relating to sedition of the Indian Penal Code.
