Earthquake tremors in Sikkim

The National Center for Seismology (NCS) said that earthquake tremors have been felt in Sikkim on Friday (05 February). According to the NCS, an earthquake of magnitude 4.0 on the Richter scale occurred near the Nepal-India border in Sikkim at 3:43 AM on Friday.

However, there is no report of casualties or property damage. The NCS tweeted that the magnitude of the earthquake was 4.0, which came at 3.43 in the morning of February 5.

This is the second time earthquake tremors have been felt in Sikkim in last 24 hours. Earlier on Thursday (04 February), a 4.8 magnitude earthquake was felt on the Richter scale near Yuxom in Sikkim. On Thursday, the earthquake struck Sikkim at a depth of 124 kilometers around 10:36 am.
