EC asked Ministry of Health to remove PM Modi photo from vaccine certificates.

The Election Commission has asked the Union Health Ministry to remove the photo of Prime Minister Narendra Modi from the corona virus vaccine certificates under the rules of the Election Code of Conduct in those states where elections are going to be held.

The Commission has written a letter to the Ministry in this regard and has also asked to file its reply in this matter.
The Trinamool Congress Party had complained to the Election Commission that PM Modi’s photo on the corona virus certificates is a violation of the Election Code of Conduct.

TMC objected to PM Modi’s photo on Corona vaccine certificates, saying he was trying to take credit of frontline workers, doctors, nurses and healthcare workers. Taking cognizance of this, the Election Commission has asked the Health Ministry to remove PM Modi’s photograph from Kerala, Assam, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Puducherry’s certificate of vaccine.

On this issue, the Election Commission has sought a report from the Chief Electoral Officer of Bengal, who said that the Covid-19 vaccination campaign was the central government’s plan.
