Five sisters tie Rakhi to ‘dead body’ of their brother in Nalgonda

Chinthapally Lakshmaiah’s five sisters came to his house from different villages on Saturday evening to tie “rakhi” on Raksha Bandhan on Sunday.

Nalgonda: In a heart-wrenching incident, five sisters tied rakhi to the limp hand of their dead brother at Malagudem hamlet of Indugula gram panchayat, Madgulapally mandal in Nalgonda district, on Sunday before the start of his funeral procession. The entire village was overcome by grief and emotion watching the poignant scene unfold before them.

Chinthapally Lakshmaiah’s five sisters came to his house from different villages on Saturday evening to tie “rakhi” on Raksha Bandhan on Sunday. Lakshmaiah, who was 50-plus, suddenly took ill and died in the early hours of Sunday, leaving the sisters devastated.

Before the start of the funeral procession, the five sisters tied rakhi on their brother’s hand with tears rolling down their eyes uncontrollably, that had all the villagers break down.
