FORMER CHIEF JUSTICE OF INDIA GETS Z PLUS SECURITY

The Central Government has decided to provide Z Plus category security to former Chief Justice of India and Rajya Sabha MP Ranjan Gogoi.

The Center has asked the CRPF to provide security to MP Gogoi.During his journey anywhere in the country, there will now be 12 CRPF commandos along with Ranjan Gogoi, who will give them protection.

Delhi Police was providing security to 66-year-old Ranjan Gogoi till now.

Now after getting Z plus security, the armed commandos of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) will be under their protection.

The Z Plus is India’s highest security category after the Protection of Special Protection Group.

This protection is given to selected people only.

Ranjan Gogoi retired from the post of Chief Justice in November 2019.

A few days later, the government nominated him to the Rajya Sabha. He is currently an MP. During his tenure, Ranjan Gogoi had been in the limelight for several decisions, including the one involving the Babri Masjid-Ram temple in Ayodhya.

At the same time, questions were raised about him going to Rajya Sabha after retirement.
