Former PM P.V Narsimha Rao’s daughter filed nomination as TRS MLC candidate

Daughter of Former Prime Minister of India,P.V Narasimha Rao, Vani Devi filed nomination for the Telangana Legislative Council as a candidate of the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS).

The TRS on Sunday announced its candidate for the Hyderabad-Rangareddy-Mahbubnagar graduate constituency. Artist, educationist and social activist Vani Devi filed her nomination on Monday.

Born in Vangara in Karimnagar district, Vani Devi is the founder of Sri Venkateswara Group of Institutions.

Elections for the Hyderabad-Rangareddy-Mahbubnagar and Nalgonda-Warangal-Khammam graduate seats are scheduled on March 14.

TPCC working president and former MP Ponnam Prabhakar has appealed to Vani Devi not to fall into the political trap of the ruling TRS. “Vani Devi akka (meaning elder sister), please seek Rajya Sabha nomination or a seat in the council under governor’s quota without having to contest elections,” said Ponnam Prabhakar in a statement issued on Monday.
