Hyderabad zoo to reopen on Sunday

Children below 10 years and adults above 65 years of age have been advised to avoid visiting the zoo especially on weekends and public holidays

Hyderabad: Nehru Zoological Park is all set to re-open for visitors on July 11 with all Covid-19 protocols in place.

In a press release issued here on Friday, the authorities said the zoo will be open from 8:30 am and requested visitors to follow Covid protocol. It is mandatory for all the visitors to undergo thermal screening at the point of entry, and visitors with symptoms of cold and fever would not be permitted inside.

Children below 10 years and adults above 65 years of age have been advised to avoid visiting the zoo especially on weekends and public holidays. All moats will be open except for Safari Park Complex, Nocturnal Animal House, Reptile House, Aquarium, Fossil Museum, Natural History Museum, which will remain closed until further orders.

Ticket counter queues have been marked as per social distancing norms and visitors advised to follow Covid norms while purchasing tickets. They must use medicated foot-bath at the entrance and follow six-foot social distance inside the premises.

Wearing a face mask is mandatory for all the visitors throughout and entry without a mask will not be permitted even for the staff. Violators will be fined Rs 200.

Battery-operated vehicles and the toy train will run with 50 per cent occupancy, but a family can book the entire vehicle for their use.
