All these prisoners have been quarantined separately from the barracks. On Wednesday, an official of Byculla Jail gave information about this. Till April 19 in Maharashtra, 197 prisoners have been found infected in 46 jails. At the same time, 7 prisoners have also died.
In addition, more than 94 prison staff have also been hit by Corona. Of these, 8 employees have died. A prison official said that on Sunday, a female prisoner was tested for antigen and transferred to the Covid center of St. George’s Hospital in South Mumbai after being found infected. It is note worthy that Indrani has been in jail since 2015 in the Sheena Bora murder case. Sheena Bora was killed in 2012.
