IPL franchise Kings XI Punjab changed its name
Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) has changed its name. The franchise captained by KL Rahul and owned by Mohit Burman, Ness Wadia and Preity Zinta will now be called Punjab Kings
According to reports, KXIP will attend IPL Auctions under new brand.
A formal communication has been made to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) about the change but the written approvals are still pending. Punjab Kings will now attend the IPL Auctions schedued on Feb18th under its new name.
“The team was planning to change the name for a long time and thought it should be done before this IPL. So it is not a sudden decision,” a BCCI source told PTI on Monday.
