`Nayak rebooted’: KCR to pay surprise visit to Panchayats, ULBs; assess developmental works
Chief Minister to inspect progress of development works across State
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has decided to pay a surprise visits to Panchayats and ULBs in order to assess the progress of Palle and Pattana Pragathi programmes in the state.
The CM also informed that a meeting will be held here at Pragathi Bhavan on June 13 to review Palle and . Additional Collectors and District Panchayat Raj officers (DPOs) will brief the chief minister about the progress.
The CM has instructed the officials to develop the culture of preparing an action plan to take preventive measures for seasonal diseases. He said there is a decrease in COVID cases in the state and the positivity rate has fallen to 4.7 percent. The CM said once the COVID ebbs, another round of Palle and Pattana Pragathi programmes would be launched in the state. The CM instructed the Forest department to continue a special drive to increase the green cover in the State.
KCR said under the new Panchayat Raj and Municipality Acts, the government is extending record support to the rural and urban areas. The government also filled up all the vacancies. Every month Rs 339 Crore is given to the villages and Rs 148 Crore to the Municipalities. He said the Palle and Pattana Pragathi programmes have yielded good results.
He said it should be known why employees in Panchayat Raj and Municipalities are failing to discharge their duties? KCR said he would not spare any lax and underperforming employees.
The CM instructed the CS to prepare a report about works done so far in the villages and municipalities? He wanted every minute detail about greenery, sanitation, saplings planted, Gram Sabhas.
The CM also wanted details about the collection of waste, construction of the dump yards, Vaikunta Dhams, filling up of the unused borewells, sanitation in the government offices, EMI paid for the tractors, collection of the power bills, payment of wages to Gram Panchayat employees, cleaning of drainages, construction of veg and non-veg markets.
“The government has no other important item except to keep the villages and urban areas clean and green. Both Palle and Pattana Pragathi programmes became successful. There is no doubt about it. It is a continuous process to keep the villages and urban areas clean and tidy. Employees concerned should not show any indifference. I wanted to give you enough time and hence did not pay any visit for the past two-year. Now I have to jump into action. There is no question of sparing any officials who are lax. They will not be pardoned and punished severely,” he said.
