The rally was attended by former Union Agriculture Minister and NCP chief Sharad Pawar, State Congress president Balasaheb Thorat.
Shiv Sena leader and cabinet minister Aditya Thackeray has sent his representative. The attendance of the leaders is seen as the step to strengthen base in the rural areas of the state.
All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) national spokesperson Ashok Dhawale had said that the conference has been called to support the ongoing Kisan agitation on the Delhi border to withdraw the agricultural laws.
A protestor said,” till the government don’t roll back the laws, the farmers’ movement will not stop. We will go to the Governor to submit a memorandum after today’s rally.”
