NIA to investigate the blast case near Israel embassy

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) will investigate the blast that took place on the evening of 29 January outside the Israeli embassy on Aurangzeb Road in Lutyens Jones, Delhi.

The Union Home Ministry on Tuesday (February 2) handed over the blast investigation to the NIA near the Israeli Embassy in Delhi. The NIA will also investigate the blast from Iran Angle in this case. In this explosion, the needle of suspicion is spinning on the Iranian suspects.

The NIA said, “We have got international angle in this case, so the evidence which was collected by Special Cell of Delhi Police has been handed over to NIA.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday spoke to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. PM Modi has assured Benjamin Netanyahu to investigate the blast outside the Israeli embassy.

According to a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office, the two leaders spoke on the phone and PM Modi told Netanyahu that India attaches great importance to the security of Israeli diplomats and the embassy. Prior to PM Modi, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has assured the Israeli Foreign Minister to protect its diplomats.

According to Delhi Police, no one was injured in the low intensity IED blast. However, the glass of three vehicles parked nearby has been shattered. Following this incident, the CISF, which guards the airports, Delhi Metro, Central Government buildings and important nuclear and space science installations, has been put on alert.
