Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated Raksha Bandhan with daughters of staff working at the PMO.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated Raksha Bandhan with young girls at his residence on Thursday, August 11.

This was a special Raksha Bandhan celebration as PM Modi celebrated the festival with the daughters of staff working at the PMO, including sweepers, peons, gardeners, drivers.

In a video shared by the PMO, girls were seen tying beautiful rakhis to the prime minister.

PM Modi extended greetings on the occasion. “Greetings to everyone on the special occasion of Raksha Bandhan”, tweeted PM Modi in the morning.

Rakha Bandhan is celebrated in Shravana month during full moon day or Purnima day. This year, the festival is celebrated on August 11.

PM MODI HANDS OUT TIRANGA

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also handed out the National Flag to the youngsters. Sharing a video on Twitter, PM Modi said, “Every Indian has a special bond with the Tiranga. Gave the Tiranga to my young friends earlier today. The smile on their faces says it all!”

PM Modi has urged people to hoist or display the national flag during August 13-15 as part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign to mark the 75th anniversary of India’s independence.
