PM Modi inaugurates Ahmedabad Metro’s second phase and Surat Metro project

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the construction work of Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project(Phase-II) and Surat Metro Rail Project (Surat Metro Rail).

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the construction work of Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project(Phase-II) and Surat Metro Rail Project (Surat Metro Rail).

The program was attended by Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Union Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Puri.

On this occasion,PM Modi said, “Metro will work to further strengthen the connectivity in Ahmedabad and Surat, the two big business centers of the country.

” Today more than 17,000 crores of infrastructure work is on, that shows the efforts of the country for the construction of new infrastructure are continuously increasing even in the Corona era.

PM Modi said, only 225 km metro line was operational in 10-12 years before 2014.

At the same time, over 450 km metro network has been operationalized in the last 6 years.
Surat is the eighth largest city in the country in terms of population, but also the fourth fastest growing city in the world.
