PM Modi launched Catch the Rain Campaign On World Water Day.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Jalashakti campaign 'Catch the Rain' through video conferencing on the occasion of World Water Day.

Under this campaign, the general public will be made aware to protect rain water and conserve water. As part of the campaign, PM Modi said, “the better India manages rain water, the country’s dependence on groundwater will be reduced. Therefore, it is very important to run a campaign like Catch the Rain and be successful.”

Water power minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath signed documents related to the Ken-Betwa Link project through video conferencing in the presence of PM Modi. During the launch of the ‘Catch the Rain’ campaign, PM Modi said, “India’s vision of development depends on its self-reliance on water connectivity. Therefore our government has given priority to water governance in its policies. More rainwater harvesting facilities mean less dependence on groundwater.”
