Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been elected as the new chairman of the Somnath Temple Trust

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been elected as the new chairman of the Somnath Temple Trust.

PM Modi was unanimously elected. The news was informed by Home Minister Amit Shah through his tweet, where he congratulated Prime Minister Modi.

In his tweet, Home Minister Amit Shah wrote that I congratulate Prime Minister Narendra Modi on becoming the President of Somnath Temple Trust.

He further wrote that Modi ji’s dedication to the development of Somnath shrine has been amazing.

The trust under his leadership will further enhance the dignity and grandeur of the Somnath temple.

Prior to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel was the chairman of the Somnath Trust and the post was vacant after his death, after which PM Modi was now elected as the chairman.

After former PM Morarji Desai, PM Modi is the second Prime Minister who has been appointed as the chairman of the temple trust.

As per trust records,PM Modi has become the eighth chairman of the trust.
