Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Kolkata’s Noapara-Dakshineswar Metro service on 22nd February.

PM will inaugurate the extension of North-South line of Kolkata Metro from Noapara to Dakshineswar. The metro service will start for the common people from 23rd February.

The metro will run from Dakshineswar to New Ghadia on working days at 6 minutes interval during working hours.
Kolkata Metro spokesperson Indrani Banerjee said, “PM will flag off a train from Noapara to Dakshineswar from an event in Hooghly district.” He said that the metro would help to connect thousands of people in an area of ​​4.1 km between Noapara and Dakshineswar.

Apart from regular passengers, devotees wishing to visit Dakshineswar Kali temple will also get the facility of a fast and pollution free travel mode after the expansion of the metro railway in its north-south axis. A metro official said that passengers will be able to travel to Dakshineswar in just one hour by covering a distance of 31.3 km from Kavi Subhash station at the southern end.

The elections in West Bengal can be announced after 22nd February. PM Modi is also visiting West Bengal during this period, in which he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of many schemes. The Election Commission has almost completed its preparations in view of the elections. Only after this the election date is being announced.
Assembly elections in West Bengal to be held in April-May. Here, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is also inaugurating and laying the foundation stones. At the same time, the code of conduct will be implemented as soon as the election date is announced.
