Bombay High Court Judge Justice Pushpa Ganeediwala’s tenure extended.

Justice Pushpa Ganeediwala pronounced two decisions under the POCSO Act, which was fiercely disputed.

The decision was also severely criticized on social media.

On Friday, the Supreme Court Collegium has given him a new term of one year as Additional Judge instead of two years. Justice Ganeidiwala’s new term will be effective from February 13. Her previous term as Additional Judge came to an end on Friday.

On 20th January,The Supreme Court Collegium recommended Justice Pushpa to be a permanent judge of the High Court, but later withdrew its approval for the proposal for appointment following her disputed rulings. Now the Ministry of Law and Justice has extended her term as an Additional Judge.
