Ravneet Singh Bittu appointed as the leader of the party in the Lok Sabha.

The Congress party has appointed Punjab MP Ravneet Singh Bittu as the leader of the party in the Lok Sabha on Thursday

Replacing the impatient Ranjan Chaudhary for the ongoing budget session of Parliament. Party sources said that the Congress unit’s Bengal unit chief Chaudhary would be tied there with campaigning for the next two months. 45-year-old Bittu will be in charge of the party’s strategy in the lower house, as Gaurav Gogoi, the deputy leader of the Congress in the Lok Sabha, will also be busy in elections in Assam.


Ravneet, a three-time MP, was first elected to the Lok Sabha from Anandpur Sahib constituency in 2009 and then to Ludhiana in 2014 and 2019. He is the grandson of former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh, who was assassinated in 1995. Ravneet Singh Bittu was appointed whip of the Congress in the Lok Sabha in August.
