Revanth Reddy comes up with baffling ‘White Challenge’ against drug use

Hyderabad: TPCC president A Revanth Reddy on Saturday came up with a baffling ‘White Challenge’ concept that seeks public representatives and celebrities to undergo ‘tests’ results of which should be placed in public domain to prove that they were not doing drugs.

The Congress MP even ‘nominated’ TRS Working president and MAUD Minister K T Rama Rao and former MP Konda Vishveshwar Reddy to ‘initiate the White Challenge.’ “I will be at the Telangana Martyrs Memorial at 12 noon on Monday. All three of us will go to Osmania General Hospital Superintendent or any Government Hospital to give blood and hair samples to conduct the tests,” Revanth Reddy told the media.

This bizzare idea of having a ‘White Challenge’ came up after Rama Rao slammed the TPCC chief earlier in the morning for calling him an ambassador of drugs, besides offering to undergo drug tests provided Rahul Gandhi also takes the test. But then, Revanth Reddy is also not aware that such tests are in the domain of forensic science and not regular hospitals.

The idea behind launching ‘White Challenge’ is to let people, especially youth, know that elected public representatives are not drug addicts, Revanth Reddy said: adding: “As public representatives, it is our responsibility to be role models to society and this challenge will facilitate that,” he said.

Revanth Reddy said his ‘White Challenge’ was inspired by Rajya Sabha MP J Santosh Kumar’s Green India Challenge (GIC).
