Ruckus in Rajya Sabha over high fuel prices.
The second phase of the budget session of Parliament has started from March 8.
Today is the second day of the session. The opposition created a ruckus in both houses from this morning on the rising price of petrol, due to which the proceedings were repeatedly adjourned. Finally, when the ruckus did not come to an end, both the house adjourned till tomorrow. During the session, the opposition was repeatedly asking this question, why the prices of petrol and diesel were not brought under the purview of GST.
Replying to the questions Anurag Thakur replied in the Rajya Sabha that no recommendation has been made yet to bring petrol and diesel under the purview of GST. Anurag Thakur said in a written reply in Rajya Sabha that to bring petrol and diesel within the purview of GST, the recommendation of the GST Council is necessary. No such recommendation has been made so far.
