Srishti Goswami to become Chief Minister of Uttarakhand for one day

Srishti Goswami of Daulatpur village in Haridwar district is being made the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand for one day,on the occasion of National Girl Child Day on 24 January (Sunday).

She will be the first woman Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. However, it will be symbolic and she will take stock of the work of different departments of the government as the Chief Minister in the Children’s Assembly session.

During this time departmental officers will present their works and Srishti will give her suggestions.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat will also be present in this program. This program is to be held in an auditorium of Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha Bhavan.
According to Usha Negi, chairperson of Uttarakhand Child Rights Protection Commission, the aim of Uttarakhand government to make Srishti one day chief minister is to ‘spread awareness about the empowerment of girls’.

In a statement released on social media, Srishti has said, “I am very happy that I am getting the opportunity to become the Chief Minister of one day. After the presentation of different departments of the Uttarakhand government, I will give my suggestions to them. Especially I will give them suggestions related to the safety of women.

Srishti is a student of B Sc Agriculture at BSM PG College, Roorkee. Her father runs a shop in the village and her mother is an Anganwadi worker. Both of them have thanked the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand for the opportunity given to their daughter.
