A mahapanchayat was held in Jind district of Haryana on Wednesday to support the peasant movement of farmers. Rakesh Tikait, the national spokesman of the Bharatiya Kisan Union, also reached Jind to participate in this mahapanchayat. Rakesh Tikait received a grand welcome in Jind. During the reception, more people climbed to the podium which causes the stage breakdown.
There was chaos during the breakdown of the stage. However, no one, including Rakesh Tikait, was hurt in the incident. All people are said to be safe.
When the panchayat resumed after the stage was broken, speaking on the stage, Rakesh Tikait said, “the stage broke in Panchayat, well it happened, fortunate people break the stage, These people are the same, these tractors are also the same.”
He said that we are going to follow Khap Panchayats. Neither will the office change, nor the stage change. Referring to the nails, forces etc. imposed by the government on the Delhi border, Tikait said that if the king is afraid, then he imprisons the fort. Not the courage of the government that can stop us from the spikes. Horses do not change in war. You do not need to go to Delhi, give your anger to us.
The mahapanchayat was held at Kandela village in Jind, which was also attended by several Khap leaders. It was organized by Sarve Jatiya Kandela Khap led by Takaram Kandela. In Jind Mahapanchayat, the proposal to withdraw all three agricultural laws, make laws on MSP and withdraw cases filed against farmers was passed unanimously.
