Subodh Kumar Jaiswal elected as the new Chief of the CBI.

IPS Subodh Kumar Jaiswal took charge as Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday.

Subodh Kumar has been appointed as CBI Director for the next two years. Subodh Jaiswal is a 1985 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer. He has been the DGP of Maharashtra, currently posted on DG post of CISF. Subodh Jaiswal has been the chief of ATS.


Significantly, after a number of high-level meetings chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Maharashtra IPS officer Subodh Kumar Jaiswal was elected as the new Chief of the CBI. Subodh, a 1985 batch officer, is currently the Director General of CISF. The committee, appointed by the cabinet to select the CBI chief, also included Chief Justice of India NV Ramanna and Home Minister Amit Shah.
