In a shocking incident,a couple murdered their daughters in superstitious belief.
The incident comes into light when Madannapalle Rural Police forced their way into the house of Padmaja and Purushottam Naidu in Madanapalle ,Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh ,where they found the daughters of the couple dead in red sarees, lying in blood with their heads bashed in.

They had been killed allegedly with a dumbbell.The family appeared to have participated in a ritual before the murders on Sunday evening.

The parents, highly educated yet extremely superstitious, allegedly believed their girls were possessed by some evil spirit.
The victims have been identified as Alekhya (27) , student of the Indian Institute of Forest Management and Sai Divya (23) a BBA graduate who was pursuing a career in music.

According to neighbours and colleagues, Purushotham’s family were deeply superstitious.Neighbours said that the victims were made to circle the house as part of the elaborate rituals.

While V Padmaja is the correspondent and Principal of a corporate school in Chittoor, V Purushotham Naidu, is an associate professor from the Chemistry department in Government Degree College, Madanapalli.
