The 17th session of “Parvasi Bharatiya Devas” (Celebration of Immigrants) (PBD) will be held this year in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. According to the statement issued by the Embassy of India in Riyadh, this celebration will be celebrated on January 8-10, 2023.
The purpose of this celebration is to strengthen and reaffirm the connection of Indians working abroad with their homeland. On this occasion selected Indians are also honored with the prestigious award “Parvasi Bharatiya Samman” in recognition of their services.
This festival commemorates Mahatma Gandhi’s return to India from South Africa in 1915. Which was started in 2003. The celebration was earlier celebrated on an annual basis but since 2015 it is being held once in two years.
