The arrest of activist Disha Ravi was made after due procedure: Delhi police

On Sunday, Disha Ravi was arrested by the Delhi Police from Bengaluru. She is accused of supporting Khalistan. On the other hand, regarding the arrest, Delhi Police Commissioner SN Srivastava said on Tuesday that as far as Disha’s arrest is concerned, it was done according to the procedures. The law does not distinguish between 22-year-olds and 50-year-olds. She was produced before a court which sent her for 5-days.

The news agency ANI quoted police official NN Srivastava as saying that what people are saying in police custody that there was a lapse in arrest is wrong. He said, “Disha was arrested from Bengaluru on Saturday, and was remanded to five days of police custody after being produced before a magistrate in Delhi. The arrest was condemned by several activists and opposition parties and demanded that the 22-year-old be released immediately.”

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said on Twitter that officials are feeling threatened by the “unarmed girl”. Bengaluru police officials said, “they were informed of Ravi’s arrest when all the arrest procedures were completed.” According to sources, the Delhi Police informed the local police about the arrest through the officials of Karnataka Cyber ​​Crime Cell after the arrest.
