Truck mows down Gujarat constable as he tries to stop it, 3rd incident in 24 hours
A suspicious truck bearing Rajasthan licence plates ran over a Gujarat Police constable when he tried to stop it.
A fatal attack on a police constable in Borsad, Gujarat, came to light on Wednesday, July 20. The cop was mowed down by a truck when he signalled for it to stop.
This was the third incident in 24 hours in which a cop was run over by a truck.
Around 1 am on Wednesday, the constable, Kiran Raj, tried to stop a suspicious truck bearing a Rajasthan licence plate. However, instead of stopping, the truck driver accelerated and ran him over. The truck driver then fled the scene. Raj died during treatment.
Anand DSP Ajit R said: “The truck driver has been identified and we are conducting an investigation to arrest him.”
