Two accused for the rape of a woman who came to join farmers protest.
The incident of two men raped a woman who has come to Delhi from West Bengal to join the ongoing farmers' agitation on the Tikri border has come to light when the woman died in a hospital in Haryana due to corona virus.
Her father lodged an FIR with the police stating that she had come to join the ongoing Kisan agitation on the Tikri border in Delhi, where she was raped by two youths involved in the movement.
At the same time, the police say that a team has been formed to search the accused youths. According to the FIR, the aggrieved woman along with some of her colleagues came to Tikri border from West Bengal on 10th April to join the peasant movement. The woman was admitted to a hospital in Jhajjar district on 26th April after being infected with Corona virus, after which the woman died on 30th April. Bahadurgarh police officer Vijay Kumar said that after the woman’s death, her father filed a rape case against 2 people.
Vijay Kumar said that the woman’s father has accused two people who had come to join the peasant movement. He said that the woman had reported this to her father over the phone. Vijay Kumar further stated that the woman died during treatment. The hospital administration told us that the woman was undergoing treatment for Corona. We have applied for the documents, which are awaited and only after we receive them can we confirm whether he died from Covid or not.
