UP police opens History Sheet of Dr. Kafeel

Dr. Kafeel Khan, who had been imprisoned in the NSA and was recently released from jail on the orders of the High Court, has now become a history sheeter of the Rajghat police station in Gorakhpur.

According to Gorakhpur SSP, the number of history sheeters in Gorakhpur so far is around 1462 and will increase further in the coming days.

Let us tell you that Dr. Kafeel came in the controversy in 2017,where more than 30 childeren died in the Government Baba Raghav Das Medical College of Gorakhpur in the span of 2 days.Kafeel Khan was the nodal officer of the AES ward at the time of the incident and was arrested as an accused in the death of children due to lack of oxygen. He was also sacked in that case and had spend months in jail. He got bail from the Allahabad High Court in April 2018.

Dr. Kafeel Khan took part in the nationwide agitations against CAA NRC and also shared the stage during protests.At the same time, he was arrested from Mumbai by UP ATS on January 29 2020 in the allegations of provocative speeches made by him during one such protest at Aligarh Muslim University and NSA was leveled against him on the report of DM of Aligarh.
The Aligarh CJM court granted bail to Dr. Kafeel Khan, but he was imposed NSA just before his release.

Thereafter, the duration of the NSA was extended against him on the recommendation of the Advisory Board. In this case, the Advisory Board argued that sufficient reasons exist to keep Kafeel Khan in jail under the NSA.

He is residing in the Congress-ruled state of Rajasthan after the Allahabad High Court ordered his release on his mother Nuzhat Parveen’s habeas corpus petition.
