WHO placed a disclaimer after India raised strong objection over wrong map

The World Health Organization (WHO) has now rectified the mistake after India’s displeasure over the wrong map. Following the government’s objection, the WHO has now placed a disclaimer over the wrong map of India.

Previously in WHO’s map of India, Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh were shown in a very different color as a different country.
In a written reply to the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for External Affairs V Muralitharan stated that “the issue of misplaced map of India on the World Health Organization website was strongly raised at a high level with the WHO.

In response to this, the WHO called India’s Permanent Mission in Geneva and told that they have placed the disclaimer on the portal. “
