India to get first shipment out of 4,50,000 vials of Remdesivir.
There is great news about Remdesivir injection amidst the havoc of Covid. Today its first shipment of 75,000 vials from the US is reaching India.
Apart from this, its consignment will continue to reach India for the next several months. Apart from these, medical aid, vaccines and pharmaceutical raw materials are also being sent to India from many countries of the world. During this period, production of drugs like Remedisivir injection in the country has also been increased manifold and gradually its production capacity is being increased further, so that the situation arising out of the unexpected can be controlled.
The statement issued by the Union Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers said that “HLL Lifecare Limited, a Government of India company, has ordered 4,50,000 vials of Remdesivir from Messrs Gilead Sciences of the US and the Egyptian pharmaceutical company Messrs Eva Pharma. It is expected that in the next day or two, Gilead Sciences of the United States will send 75,000 to 100,000 vials. Ahead of this, supply of 1 lakh vial will be available on or before 15 May. Eva Pharma will initially supply around 10,000 vials and later supply 50,000 vials every 15 days by July. It is a matter of relief that the first shipment of 75,000 vials is reaching India on Friday as well.
