Heavy rain likely in Telangana: IMD

Indian Meteorological Department has issued a two-day Orange warning for July 11 and 12, for many districts

Hyderabad: With a few spells of rain at isolated places in the city, Hyderabad experienced a breezy Saturday.

The maximum temperature of the city remained 32.6 degree Celsius, whereas the minimum temperature recorded on Saturday was 22.9 degree Celsius. Cherlapalli received the maximum rainfall in the city, of 2.8 mm.

According to the forecast by Telangana State Development Planning Society, Hyderabad will witness light to moderate rain at isolated places for the next couple of days. The maximum temperature in the city is expected to be around 33 degree Celsius to 35 degree Celsius, while the minimum temperature will range between 24 degree Celsius and 26 degree Celsius.

As of July 9, Telangana received 262.4 mm average rainfall in July, whereas the normal rain expected was 189.5 mm. On Saturday, Bantwaram, Vikarabad received the maximum rainfall in the state, of 52 mm. Several other districts including Mahabubabad, Bhadradri Kotthagudem, Karimnagar, Warangal (Rural), Jagitial and Sangareddy also received heavy rainfall.

According to IMD, heavy to very heavy rain, accompanied with lightning is likely to occur at isolated places in Nirmal, Nizamabad, Rajanna Sircilla, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Jangaon, Siddipet, Adilabad, Kumram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Jagitial, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Warangal (Rural), Warangal (Urban), Vikarabad and Mahabubnagar districts.
