PM Modi visits Yashoreshwari Kali Shaktipeeth temple of Bangladesh.

Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi arrived in Bangladesh on a two-day official visit on Friday.

The second day of the journey began with the worship of mother Kali. PM Modi reached Shyamnagar in Satkhira district by helicopter from Dhaka in the morning and went to the temple by car. PM Modi was given a ceremonial welcome in the temple premises in a traditional manner. Devotees greeted him with folded hands and Shankhadhwani and women welcomed him with the sound of Ulu.

At the Yashoreshwari Kali Shaktipeeth, one of the legendary 51 Shakti Peethas, PM Modi presented the Goddess with a silver-plated gilded crown, which was hand-made by a local goldsmith three weeks ago.
After worshiping in the temple, PM Modi said that he has prayed to the mother Kali to liberate the world from the havoc of Corona.

PM Modi said, ” today I had the privilege of coming at the feet of mother Kali, one of the 51 Shaktipeeths. It is my endeavor that if I get a chance, I should go to these 51 Shaktipeeths and take my forehead at some point. Today I have got the privilege of coming at the feet of Maa Kali. When I came to Bangladesh in 2015, I had the opportunity to bow down at the feet of Maa Dhakeshwari.”

PM Modi also said, “mankind is going through many crises due to corona today, requesting mother to liberate the entire mankind from the crisis of this corona.”

In a friendly gesture, the Prime Minister announced a grant for the construction of a community building in the temple where people could also take refuge in the event of a storm. In this community building, devotees will be able to organize annual Kali Puja and people of every religious faith will take refuge in the event of crisis.

PM Modi said, “I have heard that when a fair of worship of mother Kali is held here, a large number of devotees come from across the border and also from here. A community hall is required here.”
