Prophet remarks: Overall, 8 cases booked against Raja Singh, arrest likely
Protests against Raja Singh continued since Tuesday night after he secured bail after getting arrested in two cases booked against him earlier.
Hyderabad: Three more criminal cases have been registered against suspended BJP MLA Raja Singh for his comments on Prophet Muhammad. The new ones have been registered with the Chaderghat, Amberpet, Afzalgunj and Rajendranagar police stations. Senior police officials from Hyderabad said that they are likely to arrest the legislator under the other cases.
So far, eight cases have been booked against Singh at Mangalhat, Malakpet, Nampally, Dabeerpura, Chaderghat, Amberpet, Afzalgunj, and Rajendranagar police stations.
Raja Singh has been booked under sections 153-A, 188, 295-A, 298, 505(1)(B)(C), 505(2) and 506 of the IPC at Nampally station. Similarly, he was booked under sections 153 (A), 295(A), 504, 505 (2), and 506 of the Indian Penal Code at the Malakpet station.
Protests against Raja Singh continued since Tuesday night after he secured bail after getting arrested in two cases booked against him earlier. As many as 31 protestors have been taken into preventive custody since the unrest began. Raja Singh, post his release has however been silent. Cases were registered against him with the Dabeerpura and Afzalgunj police stations.
