Telangana Govt caps prices for Covid-19 diagnostic investigations
The State government also fixed rates that private ambulance operators can charge while transporting Covid patients to hospitals.
Hyderabad: The State government on Wednesday announced price capping of diagnostic investigations like High Resolution CT (HRCT) of the chest, IL-6 etc., which are frequently prescribed by doctors for Covid-19 patients.

Following recommendations from a committee, the State government, however, has not revised daily treatment costs for Covid patients needing isolation facilities in normal wards, ICU and ventilator care at private hospitals. The treatment costs that were set last year for Covid patients at private hospitals will continue.
Accordingly, charges for normal wards and isolation will continue to be Rs.4,000 per day, charges for patients needing ICU facilities will be Rs.7,500 per day and those needing ICU care along with ventilatory support is Rs.9,000 per day. All private hospitals have been directed to strictly comply with the new charges with non-compliance to attract action as per the law.

Investigations pertaining to Covid-19 tests:
HRCT- Rs 1,995
IL-6 – Rs 1,300
Digital X Ray- Rs 300
D-Dimer- Rs 800
CRP- Rs 500
Procalcitonin- Rs 1400
Ferritin- Rs 400
LDH- Rs 140
Ambulance charges:
Ambulance with basic life supporting systems: Rs 75 per kilometer and Minimum charges of Rs. 2, 000.
Ambulance equipped with advanced life supporting systems: Rs 125 per kilometer and minimum charge of Rs. 3, 000.
Treatment costs: (Same as last year)
Rs. 4,000 per day per persons for mild Covid-19 positive case at private hospitals
Rs.7,500 for patients needing ICU care but now ventilator support
Rs.9,000 for patients needing ICU and ventilator support
