Telangana man stuck in Kabul, kin seek centre’s help to bring him home

Anxious family members of Bommana Rajanna, the migrant worker have been spending sleepless nights ever since the Taliban captured Kabul.

Mancherial: A resident of Mancherial town working in Kabul is stuck after the Taliban took over Afghanistan’s capital city. He is unable to fly back to India as flight operations have been suspended from Kabul and his worried family members ate seeking Indian Government’s help to get him home safely.

Anxious family members of Bommana Rajanna, the migrant worker have been spending sleepless nights ever since the Taliban captured Kabul.

His wife Vasantha and daughter Ramyam told pressmen here late on Tuesday evening that Rajanna, flew to Kabul city aa recently as on August 7. He is now was struggling to come back to India.

He has been working with ACCL International, an Afghanistan owned multinational company for around eight years. He arrived in India on June 28 last and went back to Kabul for joining duties.

According to Vasantha, Rajanna went to the foreign country as he did not expect the present turmoil witnessed in Kabul. “He, however, is worried over his repatriation, considering the unviability of flights. He is unable to find an airplane to return from the capital of Afghanistan to India even as his employer arranged flight tickets,” she stated.

The family members pleaded to the Union government to take steps for safe repatriation of Rajanna at the earliest. They disclosed that he was staying constantly in touch with them over the phone and was sharing conditions of the foreign country. They disclosed that his colleague Venkanna of Oddyaram of Karimnagar district was also stranded in the city.
