292 players to go under hammer in the IPL auction

The 14th season of the Indian Premier League will be played in April-May this year.

An important event related to the tournament is yet to be held on February 18 .The players will be auctioned for the next season on 18th February. A total of 292 players have been included in the auction this year. In the players’ auction, Nayan Doshi, the son of former left-arm spinner Dilip Doshi(42) of India is the oldest and Noor Ahmed(16) of Afghanistan is the youngest player taking part in the auction. The reserve price of Nayan and Noor Ahmed has been fixed at Rs 20 lakh. Nayan has played a total of 70 first-class matches for Saurashtra, Rajasthan Royals and Surrey between 2001 and 2013.

Khirievito Kensee of Nagaland is also the youngest player to be included in the auction at the age of 16. He took seven wickets in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy held last month. The reserve price of Khirovito has been fixed at Rs 20 lakh.

164 Indians, 125 foreigners and players from three International Cricket Council member countries have been included in the auction. Only 61 of these players will get a chance to play this season as 61 slots are empty in all 8 teams.
