PM MODI RELEASED Rs.2,690.77 CRORES FOR U.P. UNDER THE PRADHAN MANTRI AWAS YOJANA-GRAMIN(PMAY-G).

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday released a sum of 2,690.77 crore rupees for Uttar Pradesh under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G).

This money has been transferred to the accounts of 6 lakh 10 thousand beneficiaries of the state. PM Modi has released this amount through video conferencing from Delhi. During this, PM Modi also held talks with the beneficiaries.

After transferring the money to the beneficiaries, Prime Minister Modi said, “Today together, more than 6 lakh families of UP have been directly transferred about Rs 2,700 crore to their bank account. There are more than five lakh of these families who got their first installment to build a house. Today there are 80 thousand families who are getting the second installment of their house. Now next winter will not be so difficult for your family. You will also have your own house and facilities in the next winter.

PM Modi said, “all of you have seen what was the situation in Uttar Pradesh during the earlier governments. The poor did not believe that the government could also help in building a house. The earlier housing schemes, the way houses were built under them, is also not hidden from anyone. The country had set a target of providing pucca houses to every poor family till the completion of 75 years of independence. In the past years, about two crore houses have been built only in rural areas. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana alone of which 1.25 crore houses has been given to the people.”
