GHMC MAYOR ELECTIONS TO BE HELD ON 11th FEBRUAR

State Election Commissioner C Partha Sarathi on Friday has issued a notification for the election, directing the election authority and Greater Hyderabad Muncipal Corporation Commissioner to authorise one of the District Collectors having jurisdiction over any area comprising the GHMC to conduct the election to the offices of Mayor and Deputy Mayor.

All the members of GHMC will be given notification on or before 6 February by the district collector.
According to the schedule,all the elected GHMC corporators will take oath at 11 AM on February 11.On the same At 12:30 PM the Mayor election will take place and Deputy Mayor election to be held possibly on next day, if the Mayor is elected.

Currently GHMC Mayor seat is reserved for Woman.

Looking on the GHMC election results,Out Of 150 division seats of GHMC,TRS has won 56 divison seats, BJP has won 48 division seats, AIMIM has won 44 division seats and Congress has won 2 division seats.

Majority needed for electing the Mayor,if majority is not secured, presiding officer of election will take charge from the next day of the election.

The term of the previously elected corporators end on 10th February.
